UNT launches four Institutes of Research Excellence

The University of North Texas launched four Institutes of Research Excellence, bringing together a critical mass of knowledge and faculty collaborating on projects designed to create a stronger platform for interdisciplinary research and partnerships with industry to create solutions and further contribute to the North Texas region’s economic growth.

UNT’s Texas Fashion Collection exhibition features intricate wearable art clothing made for Dallas collector

A new exhibition, organized by the Texas Fashion Collection at the University of North Texas, will feature a unique collection in which the art adorns the clothing. An Artistic Alliance: Art and Couture by Amy Zerner from the Collection of Torie Gibralter will run Nov. 21 (Saturday) – Dec. 12 (Saturday) at UNT ArtSpace Dallas, 1901 Main St., Dallas. A reception will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. with a gallery talk by curator Myra Walker at 4 p.m. Nov. 21 (Saturday).

UNT displays wide media of work from art faculty and staff at Nov. 12-Dec. 10 exhibition

Works of tenured professors to new faculty members will be displayed at the Annual CVAD Faculty and Staff Exhibition at UNT on the Square. The show will include ceramics, jewelry, metalsmithing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and even fashion design.

New co-directors named at Teach North Texas

Two new co-directors, Rudi Thompson and Pamela Harrell, have been named for UNT’s Teach North Texas program, which prepares science and math teachers for the classroom.
