Mean Green Alumni Rally 2015

October 13th, 2015 | Posted in Alumni News

More than 200 UNT alumni and friends gathered at Four Corners Brewery in Dallas on September 11 to show their Mean Green pride before the season opening football game against SMU. UNT President Smatresk and VP of Advancement David Wolf gave attendees a warm welcome while Scrappy and the cheerleaders performed to the tunes from an all alumni pep band.

A special thanks to our hosts George Esquivel and Steve Pocari (and alumni!) with Four Corners Brewery for the one-of-a-kind craft beer created for the event. And to George Dunham and The Bird Dogs who performed during the evening helping create a fun-filled, Mean Green event.

Check out all the fun from the Alumni Rally at Four Corners Brewery here.

2015 UNT Kuehne Speaker Series

Richard W. FisherJoin us for one of UNT’s signature events in Dallas, the Kuehne Speaker Series. This event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Antole Dallas on November 10 and feature Richard W. Fisher.

Richard W. Fisher was president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas from 2005 until 2015, serving as a member of the Federal Open Market Committee, the Federal Reserve’s principal monetary policymaking group. From 1997 to 2001, Fisher served as deputy United States trade representative with the rank of ambassador, responsible for U.S. trade policy and negotiations in Asia, Latin America, Mexico and Canada. His high-profile roles include serving as vice chairman of Kissinger McLarty Associates and senior advisor to FCM Investors; member of the Board of Directors of EDS; and senior advisor to the law firm of Covington and Burling.

The UNT Kuehne Speaker Series was established in 2013 to showcase UNT’s nationally and internationally recognized programs and faculty engaged in issues related to national and human security and other globally relevant topics. The series was established thanks to generous support from UNT alumnus Ernie Kuehne (’66), an attorney and president and board chairman of Kuehne Oil Co.
