Mayborn School of Journalism

  • Staci Parks, M.J. ’15, has been hired as the online media content editor for D Magazine.
  • Annette Nevins, M.J. ’14, is the lifestyles/features editor for the Temple Daily Telegram. Her personal essay headlined “Voyage around my mother,” is in the 2015 issue of Mayborn magazine.
  • Sarah M. Broom’s personal essay titled “The Yellow House: A decade after the storm, my mother still can’t go home” was published in The New Yorker magazine in August. Broom earned her bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Anthropology in 2002. Here’s the link to her work:
  • Amber Freeland, M.J. ’14, is an account manager with Insite Interactive.

Dean Totten’s Retirement Reception

After 38 years at UNT, Dean Totten has retired. Many alums provided gifts to the Herman L. Totten Endowed Scholarship fund as a lasting memento to Dean Totten.

Lisa Reynolds got her undergraduate and master’s degree at UNT — became the first of the former summer camp student participants to receive a M.S. degree in computer science from UNT.

Fall 2015 Suit Up Clothing Drive

Tuesday, November 3rd 9a.m. – 3p.m.
This event is open to ALL CURRENT STUDENTS!!!

The Career Center is sponsoring the drive in an effort to ensure that UNT Students have professional clothing for job interviews and new professional work opportunities.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! The Suit Up Clothing Drive event will be held once a year and will rely solely on the donations and contributions from the UNT Community.

We will gladly accept the following gently worn items:

  • Pants and skirts suits
  • Dress shirts and blouses
  • Sport coats/ Blazers
  • Skirts/Dresses
  • Dress slacks/khaki pants

We will also be accepting new shoes, socks and accessories.

Items can be donated at the Career center locations in Chestnut Hall Suite 103, Discovery Park Room C111, and Business Leadership Building (BLB).

We also have opportunities to volunteer during the Suit UP Clothing Drive!!!
