UNT engineer earns prestigious National Science Foundation award

Yan Wan, an assistant professor of electrical engineering in the College of Engineering, has earned a National Science Foundation CAREER award. The CAREER awards are the NSF’s most prestigious awards supporting junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research.

The UNT College of Music has named jazz studies and music education student Brendon Wilkins of Saratoga, NY, the 2015-16 Presser Scholar and recipient of the $4,200 Presser Scholarship.

UNT College of Music offers intensive summer workshops for musicians of all ages

Each summer, UNT’s College of Music opens its doors to music students whose ages and levels of experience span a wide range. From elementary school students, to college graduates, students and professionals, those who want to learn more, fine tune their musical skills, or build on their knowledge of music instruction are invited to apply for the College of Music’s summer workshops.

Dallas Morning News editor emeritus to receive Mayborn School’s Shuford Award

Bob Mong, editor emeritus of the Dallas Morning News who held many roles at the newspaper during 36 years, will receive the C.E. “Pop” Shuford Hall of Honor Award from the University of North Texas’ Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism.
