6th Annual Doctoral Alumni Reunion

All College of Education Doctoral Alumni are invited to reconnect with old colleagues, and make new ones, at the 6th annual Doctoral Alumni Reunion. Each Alumni is allowed one guest, and the event will be hosted at the Alumni Center on June 18 at 801 North Boulevard, Denton, Texas 76201. Alumni Spotlight: Netreia McNulty McCoy from Higher Education

Netreia McNulty McCoy, Ed.D. graduated from UNT’s College of Education in August 2014. That same month, she joined The Suder Foundation as Director of Campus Relations and Programming. In this role, McNulty McCoy collaborates with coordinators at seven different universities, including University of Kentucky and Washington State University, to deliver high-impact, supportive programming for first-generation college students.

UNT Mayborn Alumni Updates

  • Loren Bolton (B.J. ’12) has been hired by Cooksey to provide account support and assist in digital communications. Loren brings years of experience, and previously served as Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Dallas Chapter.
  • David Klement (B.A. ’62) is executive director of the Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions at St. Petersburg College in Florida.  He had a distinguished, 45-year career as a journalist with the former Knight Ridder Newspaper Group (now McClatchy News), including stints at the Daily Oklahoman in Oklahoma City, the Detroit Free Press, and the Bradenton Herald. At the Free Press, he was part of the newsroom team awarded the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the 1967 Detroit riots.
  • Marty Newman (M.J. ’02) is now director of Accelerated Online Programs in UNT’s Toulouse Graduate School.

On April 16, 2015, UNT College of Information Department of Library & Information Sciences held an alumni affair in Austin at the Four Season Resort in conjunction with the Texas Library Conference.  A great group of some 100 alumni and faculty attended.  This group of alumni celebrated the department’s 75 anniversary with a delightful program, good food and great conversation.
