UNT professor receives award for editing book on social media

alan-albarran For the second time in 10 years, Alan Albarran, chair of the UNT Department of Radio, Television and Film, has received the annual Robert G. Picard Book Award by the Media Management and Economics Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.

UNT appoints Ligon, Cox interim deans

Two UNT faculty members and current administrators – Eric Ligon and Dr. Gloria Cox – have been named interim deans for the College of Visual Arts and Design and the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science respectively, by Dr. Warren Burggren, UNT provost and vice president for academic affairs.

UNT’s North Star of Texas Writing Project received the grant from the Texas Education Agency to organize professional development workshops for South Texas teachers, who will take their newly learned tips back to the classroom.

UNT students receive scholarships from National Retail Federation

UNT College of Merchandising, Hospitality and Tourism students, Khuyen Nguyen and Adriana Solis, each received $2,500 scholarships for being named semifinalists in the 2014 Ray M. Greenly Scholarship Competition.
