MEAN GREEN GAME DAY is all about saying, “Welcome back to Denton, Alums!”

Since you’ve been gone, UNT has grown to become the 25th largest public university in the country and racing to beat University of Houston as the 3rd largest in Texas. UNT has more than 36,000 students, 5,000 faculty and staff, plus some 130,000 alumni in the immediate DFW region. There’s Apogee Stadium and Coach Dan McCarney’s now-stellar football team. Home game attendance averages 21,000 since Apogee opened. Where are the rest of you on game days?

Introducing Mean Green Game Day, an all-new experience that seamlessly connects Dallas to downtown Denton, the Mean Green Tailgating Village and Apogee Stadium with complimentary transportation for a complete, original and independent game-day-in-Denton adventure.

Ride the DART’s Green Line from Dallas to Trinity Mills in Carrollton, connect to the DCTA A-train, and land at the top of the line­–the Euline Brock Downtown Denton Transit Center, which in the smack-dab in the heart of Downtown Denton’s vibrant entertainment district. Restaurants, bars, live music, shopping, and museums are all options for building your own Mean Green Game Day your way. Free DCTA shuttles make two stops in downtown on the way to and from the UNT pedestrian bridge, no car necessary.

The momentum for Mean Green Game Day has been building for the past two years.   Mean Green Sports and related website pages have experienced a 200 percent audience increase during 2013. UNT’s exciting 9-win inaugural Conference USA season in 2013 drew attention from all over, in and out of the sports world. The 2014 Heart of Dallas Bowl win, still fresh in fans’ minds, sealed the deal: Mean Green Game Day’s time is NOW.
