In a fall 2013 survey conducted by the Division of Community Engagement, the UNT community—alumni, students, faculty, and staff—reported that they had contributed over 143,000 volunteer hours to nearly 2,000 organizations in communities all over the world.   Over 200 alumni participated in the survey. UNT alumni volunteer efforts ranged from mentoring in a local Denton Independent School District middle school with a student at-risk of failing math to presenting at a Mental Illness Education Conference in Canberra, Australia, and everything in between!  UNT alumni are making their communities better by serving in various volunteer roles such as advocates, board officers, fundraisers, and event planners.

The Division of Community Engagement now wants to hear from YOU! Are you volunteering for a non-profit?  Are you serving on a professional board?  Are you involved in a mentoring program with a school or youth serving agency?  Whatever it is, we want to hear how YOU are making an impact in YOUR community!  To tell your personal story (and to upload a picture!), go to
