Emerald Eagle Honors

The Eagle Has Landed…in Dallas!

Calling all UNT Alumni!

Please join more than 1,000 UNT alumni and friends on Monday, April 15, 2013, for a star-studded evening at the first annual Emerald Eagle Honors celebrating fellow Eagles “Mean” Joe Greene, Mary Suhm and Roy Orbison.

In lieu of the annual Emerald Ball, the UNT Foundation has established the Emerald Eagle Honors: Recognizing a Lifetime of Contributions to the American Landscape. This entertaining Kennedy Center Honors-type event will be at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas and will recognize Pro Football Hall of Fame member “Mean” Joe Greene (’69); rock and roll icon, the late Roy Orbison (’55, represented by his family); and Dallas City Manager Mary Suhm (’74, ’84). Actor and Academy Award Nominee Peter Weller (’69) and Dancing With The Stars: All-Stars Champion Melissa Rycroft (’05) co-host the evening which will include entertainment, music and special-guest appearances.

Proceeds from the event benefit the UNT Emerald Eagle Scholars program. Since it began in 2007, the program has raised more than $1 million to make a UNT education possible for high-achieving students with financial need.

A host committee of UNT alumni and friends is selling sponsorships and tickets for this benefit. We need your support as we showcase UNT and the difference it has made not only in the lives of Emerald Eagle Scholars, but in the American cultural landscape as a whole.

Tickets range from $150-$300. To purchase, please contact Lynne Richards at (940) 369-8678 or Find out more at
