Central to the textile traditions of the Ashante of Ghana, West Africa, are Adinkra and Kente cloths. Printed or woven, these fabrics are a visual embodiment of proverbs, events and cultural values. “Cloth Talks” presents a collection of these textiles, subtle and striking, drawn from private collections and from the Boakye family workshop in Nthonso, one of the only remaining traditional Adinkra villages. Admission is free.
