‘Creating Global Consumer Experiences Symposium’ slated for April 14

Understanding the global consumer in the 21st century is the nexus of successful retail and hospitality companies.  Whether creating memorable experiences, extending the essence and reach of a brand, or exploring new technologies and online formats, successful businesses clearly understand what makes these techno-savvy consumers tick.

On April 14, 2011, the School of Merchandising and Hospitality (SMHM) will explore how companies are engaging the new global consumer at the 7th Creating Global Consumer Experiences Symposium.  The annual event is held in conjunction with the SMHM research competition.

Dave Goodman, CEO of Goodman Experiences, will be the featured keynote speaker.  Touted as a catalyst for creative collaboration, Goodman’s work with companies such as Disneyland Resort, SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery, and Tokyo Disney resort will provide the foundation for rethinking global branding and entertainment in the new millennia.  Industry experts joining Goodman on the panel are:

   • Rhonda Levene, Senior Vice President/GM National Accounts, PepsiCo Foodservice

   • Sid Keswani, Senior Vice President, Target Stores

   • Bob Meyers, CEO, Sheplers Western Wear
