Success Has A Ring To It

November 1st, 2010 | Posted in Mean Green

Each semester, students gather in the Gateway Ballroom to be presented with their class rings at the Official Ring Presentation Ceremony hosted by the UNT Alumni Association. The ceremony is attended by friends and family members of ring recipients, includes a keynote speaker and concludes with the singing of the Alma Mater, Glory to the Green and White. In conjunction with the ring presentation ceremony, the Administration Building clock tower is illuminated in green, like after a victory by a UNT athletic team, to celebrate each student’s academic victory.

Formerly known as the Concert Hall, The Paul Voertman Concert Hall has opened its doors after a $6.4 million renovation project. After renovations, the once 625-seat Concert Hall now promotes a more intimate performance space with 380 seats. The hall was formally inaugurated with a three-part concert series that included a performance exploring three centuries of American chamber music, a concert by Jake Heggie, and a College of Music faculty recital. The Paul Voertman Concert Hall will primarily be used for faculty and student recitals, chamber music, and smaller ensemble concerts.
